Hockey is who we are

It has taken 100 years of hard work and dedication from every CCM employee to get to where CCM is today.

The beginnings of hockey are debatable, Montreal, Kingston, Halifax, England and even the Netherlands, but the roots of CCM are indisputable. In September 1899, Canada Cycle & Motor Company Limited opened its doors in Weston, Ontario, Canada.

In 1905, the market for bicycles in Canada began to decline, with market saturation and seasonality playing a significant role. Experiments with importing and producing cars also came to nothing. At that time, the sport of ice hockey was growing rapidly and CCM decided to enter the market with the launch of the CCM Automobile Skate. Within 30 years, CCM dominated the ice hockey skating market with more than 90% of all players wearing CCM skates, the remaining percentage being distributed to seven other manufacturers. The NHL's scoring champions between 1939 and 1969 all wore the world-famous Tackaberry hockey shoe with the CCM Prolite skate.

Icehockey Stick

Choosing an ice hockey stick can be a difficult task. It is important that you choose a stick that really suits you and matches your level. When purchasing an ice hockey stick, pay attention to the following parts: (1) length of the stick, the stick should not be longer than the length from the ground to your nose. (2) L or R stick, this represents which side the blade is on the stick. If you are right-handed, it does not necessarily mean that you need an R, but determine your preferred side to shoot and receive the puck. (3) Flexibility of the stick, this indicates how flexible or stiff the stick is. A low flex means a high flexibility, and a high flex means that the stick is stiff.
